Why?

Why does MUI need OKRs? My team already has a north star KPI and a number of KPIs, ranked by importance, that we optimize on. What problem would we solve with the OKRs?

The big rocks. We have to plan our time around the large topics. If we don't, our time will be filled with small tasks, up to a point where we have no more time for what truly matters.

At MUI, we aim to spend our time with:

• 40% on the KPIs
• 40% on the OKRs ⬅️
• 20% on personal objectives

Goals

The goals of OKRs are to be:

• Aligned: we, as a strong team, all take action to reach the same goal(s).
• Accountable: our failure or success is based on metrics and facts.
• Focused on execution: we stay focused on what really matters.
• Transparent: everybody is aware of the priorities of other teams.
• Autonomous: every team can define its own initiatives, so we avoid micro-management while making sure we create a strong ownership culture, which is one of our core values.

Who?

The CEO defines the company's OKRs first and then cascades them to Teams. That way, we are working aligned toward a common coherent goal.
