DUERP
Under the French code of law, a DUERP from the first employee is mandatory https://entreprendre.service-public.fr/vosdroits/F35360?lang=en.
We have to identify each risk, and for each:
- Contextualize by describing the risk, and how it can go wrong.
- The actual risk. The probability of happening.
- The danger. How bad can things get?
- The mitigations. Things that we can do to reduce the risk or the danger.
A. Remote work
A1. Time organization: Priorities
- Description: When working remotely, employees have more autonomy in organizing their tasks and setting priorities. Unlike the office, where external factors such as colleagues, meetings, and impromptu discussions structure the day, remote workers must independently manage their workload. This type of autonomy requires adequate decision-making and organizational resources to enable them to carry out their work as best as possible. Depending on the individual, this situation can be a source of creativity or, on the contrary, stress.
- Risk evaluation:
- Probability: Moderate
- Severity: Moderate
- Mitigation:
- Provide training on time management and priority setting, tailored to different work styles.
- Encourage employees to set clear daily and weekly goals to maintain structure.
- Offer access to planning tools and templates to help employees organize their workload efficiently.
A2. Time organization: Work vs. personal life separation
- Description: Remote work can blur the boundaries between work and personal life, leading to overwork/difficulty disconnecting or the opposite, underwork/difficulty engaging.
- Risk evaluation:
- Probability: Moderate
- Severity**:** Moderate
- Mitigation:
- Educate employees on setting clear separation between the professional and personal life.
- Reinforce policies on breaks, working hours, and the right to disconnect.
- Encourage the use of calendar blocking for personal and work commitments.
A3. Adapted work environment
- Description: A quiet and comfortable workspace is essential for concentration, calls, and overall productivity. Poor ergonomic setups can lead to discomfort and long-term health issues.
- Risk evaluation:
- Probability**:** High
- Severity: Moderate
- Mitigation:
- Encourage employees to create a dedicated and distraction-free workspace.
- Provide ergonomic guidelines, including things like desk height, chair support, and screen positioning.
- Offer financial support for ergonomic home office improvements or dedicated budgets for co-working spaces.
